A Weekend at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Buffalo

While enjoying a long weekend in Buffalo this August, we had the pleasure of staying in a penthouse suite at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Buffalo. Here are all the reasons why this is the hotel for you, on your next stay in the beautiful city of Buffalo, New York.

While staying in Buffalo, New York this August, I had the chance to partner with Visit Buffalo-Niagara. During this incredible weekend of adventure, we found our nightly solace in a penthouse suite at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Buffalo. Located on 200 Delaware Avenue, this high-rise paradise is centrally located in the heart of downtown, close to anything and everything that you could possibly want to see in the area.

Niagara Falls is a mere twenty-five minute drive away, and any suburb shopping district that you could want to visit is also within the same distance. However, to explore downtown Buffalo itself, you need only leave your car parked with the hotel valet and wander the streets by foot. Canadian residents with a valid ID can enjoy complimentary valet parking during their stay... Score!

You can also easily access many parts of downtown for free by boarding any of NFTA-Metro's aboveground Light Rail stops, between Fountain Plaza and Erie Canal Harbor stations. Otherwise, if you're travelling to or from any of the underground stops, the fee is $1.75 USD (roughly $2.30 CAD) for a one-way trip, per person. Capitalizing on public transit allows you to take part in the many things to do in Buffalo, including walking along picturesque Canalside.

But let's talk about the Embassy Suites' jaw-dropping amenities, shall we?

From the moment that you pull your car up to the front doors, tentative staff are waiting to assist you and make even the first few seconds at the Embassy Suites ones of pampered luxury. After loading up our trolley and making our way over to the check-in desk, we were greeted yet again by a friendly concierge who promptly checked us in and gave us our room keys. Be sure to let them know that you are a Hilton Honors rewards member, so that you can work toward a free night on a future trip. If you haven't already signed up, you should! It's absolutely free of charge.

Another tip for Canadian residents is to flash your ID once again when checking in, which will get each guest staying in the room either a snack or beverage. Talk about feeling the love of our neighbours to the south!

We took the elevator up to the top floor, exiting into a smaller lobby area with a stunning cityscape view and several chairs interspersed throughout the area. As tempting as it was to grab a seat and enjoy the scenery, we continued on to the end of the hall to our suite. I was instantly floored by the beauty of our home-away-from-home for the next few days; upon opening the door and entering the suite, we were instantly greeted with floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a panoramic view of the Buffalo skyline spread out in front of our sleeper sofa (pictured in the collage above), coffee tables, and HDTV. In this space, closer to the front door, we also found a wet bar with a mini-fridge and microwave, a coat closet to hang up some of our things, and a table and chairs to eat and work at.

As we made our way deeper into the suite, we found a sleek and bright washroom to the right, featuring a marble vanity well-stocked with everything we could need: Neutrogena bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion; a shower cap; multiple mirrors; and a spacious glass shower were all readily available. Fluffy white towels were tucked beneath the vanity, and hand towels and face cloths were folded neatly nearby.

Further on, the bedroom with two double beds welcomed us at the end of the hall. Inside was another set of breath-taking floor-to-ceiling windows along the exterior wall, offering a continuing panoramic view from that of the adjacent living area. Within the room was a second HDTV, bedside tables, lamps, ultra-comfy chairs, a floor-length mirror, and a second closet to hang up our clothing in.

Because all guests are entitled to the hotel's free WiFi, I was instantly able to connect my devices and let my friends and family back home know that we had arrived safe and sound in Buffalo, and would update them on our first day of adventure later that evening.

Though for dinner that night we dined at the nearby restaurant Marble + Rye, only a quick walk a few blocks away, we returned later that evening for a cocktail within the Embassy Suites' bar, located within SEAR Steakhouse (more on that later). We had unfortunately missed the Evening Reception on our first night, which offered complimentary beverages and snacks on the hotel's main floor; thus, we opted to check out the bar instead. However, because we had a long day of travel and a jam-packed first day of adventure in Buffalo, we went to bed earlier than usual to ready ourselves for an early morning. Everyone slept like a baby that night on our comfortable beds, rising not much later than the sun to make our way to the main floor for our complimentary made-to-order breakfast in the dining room.

Here, you can devour one of their on-site chef's signature omelettes made right before your eyes; scrambled eggs, waffles, cereal, toast, or porridge at their buffet style breakfast counter; and a variety of hot and cold drinks (from coffee and tea to juices) at the drink counter. By the end of your meal, you'll have a full belly and be completely energized for your day ahead. A word to the wise: arrive earlier for breakfast rather than later, as the tables fill up quickly as the morning goes on.

It's not just the penthouse suites that are offered all of these perks, though. Every single Embassy Suites contains two rooms, complimentary drinks at the evening reception, a completely free made-to-order breakfast, and access to the on-site gym. As well, all guests are welcome at the brand new main floor restaurant, SEAR Steakhouse (which offers daily room service between 11.00am and 11.00pm), a great option for heavier meals like lunch and dinner, or just for sitting and socializing at its on-site bar. This modern steakhouse is also open to the public with a reservation, and offers a chef-driven, contemporary menu with something for everyone. Along with exceptional service that I can 100% attest to during our time at the bar on our first evening, the restaurant offers a plethora of craft-cocktails and over 350 varieties of wine on their wine list, all within the Embassy Suite's chic and lively ambiance.

The lobby espresso bar, City Press, is the place to go when you're just looking to grab a coffee or pre-made salad, sandwich, or pastry to take on the go. It's quick, it's easy, and it's delicious! How can you resist?

Regardless of which suite you opt to book during your stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Buffalo, you're bound to have an absolutely spectacular time. With your every whim taken care of, your every need met, and anything that you could possibly need during your stay in the city right at your fingertips, booking with the Embassy Suites is not only the ultimate pampering experience, but it simply makes sense.

X,

Emily
